The Port Authority of Bilbao has asked the consultancy Deloitte for an analysis of the socio-economic contribution of the Port of Bilbao over the Basque Country and Vizkaya. From 881.96 million euros to GDP, it belongs to 1.29% of the Basque Country and 2.55% of Vizcaya. On the other hand, the Port of Bilbao maintains a total of 11,496 employees, representing 1.30% of the population of the entire autonomous community of the Basque Country. Another important fact is the importance of having a Port in Bilbao, which represents a saving of 318.5 million euros per year.
