China aims to dominate world container market

Prospects for global demand growth in container terminals are now more optimistic, given the aggressiveness and confidence that Chinese operators are demonstrating in their operations.
It shows that the average annual growth will be 4% by 2021, implying that port capacity will increase by 152 million TEUs, as a result of improved traffic in ports in the second half of 2016 and 2017, as well as the advance of the global economy.
The main purchase and merger agreements that are closing in the last months are modifying the usual scenario of the sector, which will still be more altered in the future, according to the annual report on Container Terminal Operators of consultancy Drewry.
