The demand for global air cargo increases by 9%
The highest growth since 2010
Global cargo air traffic registered a 9% increase in 2017 compared to the previous year, in an exercise in which the airlines increased the capacity for goods by 3%, according to the data of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
In Europe there was an increase of 11.8% in cargo traffic in 2017, the largest of all regions except Africa. Supply increased by 5.9% in the region in the year in line with the increase in exports from European manufacturers.
The capacity measured in tonnes of cargo per available kilometer (AFTK) increased by 3% last year, the slowest pace since 2012, which was tripled by registered demand.
