Large volume of imports added to the effects of Hurricane Ida congests US ports.

A constant that persists in the logistics market related to COVID-19 is congestion in ports around the world.

With the shortage of dock workers and truck drivers, the problem goes beyond port barriers, affecting railways and trucks, where the entire supply chain is impacted.

Hurricane Ida in late August contributed to US East Coast ports have been suffering from a 12-15 day wait time given the large volume of vessels queuing to dock.

This increase in volume is causing wait times on the West Coast of the United States as well.

With increasing demand, significant delays are expected, as well as additional freight and rail costs such as high season surcharges.
